FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: May 7, 2024
Grand Bend Ontario is setting the bar for Canada Day events in Southwestern Ontario. Organized by the town’s Grand Bend Canada Day Committee and supported community wide, Canada’s favourite beach town is pulling out all the stops for this year’s entertainment. Live music and stage presentations will keep visitors and residents rocking during the day and into the evening. When it’s finally lights out the ‘star performance’ will rocket into the skies.
Title sponsor for this year’s pyrotechnic presentation is Skyshot Management Inc. and lifelong Grand Bend resident and Director of Skyshot – Skylar McIndoe – says he can’t wait for the Canada Day spectacle.
“This is a tradition that has captured the imagination of myself and my family for years. The brilliance and breath holding experience is one that makes memories and I’m very proud our company is helping keep the Canada Day skies bright and bursting with light. As a community, we have a lot to celebrate and in Grand Bend we’ve been making it a party for decades.”
McIndoe invites everyone to join in on the day’s events and encourages other businesses and individuals to be part of the team. The 2024 Canada Day Celebration Committee volunteers consist of JoAnne Donnelly of Perfect Balance Book Keeping, Jen Gaukroger of Grand Bend Locals Card, and Paul Rivard President of The Optimist Club of Grand Bend and District, Paul goes on to say a number of local businesses have stepped up to make the day a success but there’s always room for more.
He says, “We love that people love Grand Bend and the amazing fireworks are just one of the experiences on offer this year. The volunteer committee has put together a memorable day but all the fun comes with a price tag though. We recognize it happens because of the generosity of companies like Skyshot Management Inc., Sobey’s of Grand Bend, Mike & Terri’s No Frills, Medway Homes and Coleson Freight Carriers, all sponsors are listed on our website. The Grand Bend community is supporting events and encouraging everyone to get in the spirit.”
The journey to the main stage on Canada Day begins in June as Home Hardware Building Centre proudly presents, the Grand Bend Battle of the Bands, and will showcase artists at Grand Bend Place Centre for the Living Arts. Winners will perform on the big stage in front of thousands during the Canada Celebrations. For details about dates and how to enter your band, visit Optimist Club Grand Bend Facebook, or Canada Day Fireworks Facebook.
Rivard would also like to acknowledge the support of the Municipality of Lambton Shores, the Canadian Heritage Grant, and the Sunset Community Foundation. These funds are targeted for improving the stage, sound and light productions and the fireworks.
